Herds of bison wander across the road in Yellowstone's Lamar Valley.  If you see a herd coming towards the road, stop and wait.  It's great to be the 1st car in the "bison jam" as they walk past.  Better than being behind a bunch of cars and unable to see them.

Bison in May are pretty scruffy.  Snow has just melted recently, allowing the roads to re-open for tourists.  Heavy winter fur is falling out and making big tangled clumps that haven't yet fallen off.
