The town of Jasper is nestled in a small valley surrounded by mountains.
Prices are way up.
Hotels in Jasper cost 3 times as much, and are nearly sold out.
We've been traveling without hotel reservations, just finding a place
each night, but we almost didn't get a room here.
After we arrived, we booked 2 nights here and also one night in Banff,
just to be safe.
We had hoped to miss the busy season, but moved our trip up by 2 weeks
to avoid the risk of snow, and ended up here during the very busy week
leading into the holiday weekend before school starts.
Doh!
Weather has been warm.
65-70 during the day.
50 overnight.
I guess snow wasn't so likely after all...
