This border station between the US and Canada closes at night.  I guess you just wait a few hours, or find a hotel and come back in the morning.

Lots of interesting "animal crossing" signs.  Pictures of elk, moose, foxes, etc.

The only time we actually saw the border guards look inside a car.  Other times, we've just driven straight through, pausing only to show our passports, say where we were from, where going, how long staying, and that we didn't have any plants, fruit, vegetables or other contraband in the car.  I guess this driver looked more suspicious than we did.

The US has its "Glacier National Park".  Canada has its "Waterton National Park".  In between, right at the border (or perhaps including both of the above?), is "Waterton Glacier International Peace Park".  This parking lot is just barely in the US.  You can park here and hike trails that go 20 miles into the US or 20 miles into Canada.

Saw lots of cows on the road today and had to stop a few times for them to clear a path for us.  Then a black bear walked across the road, but I wasn't quick enough to get the camera out and take a picture before it vanished into the trees.  Do bear go after cattle?  Or just berries, grubs, fish, etc?  There are supposed to be local wolves, wolverines and cougars too.  I don't know what the ranchers do to protect the cattle.  A steady food supply would probably increase the number of predators.
