| Saw lots of cows on the road today and had to stop a few times for them to clear a path for us. Then a black bear walked across the road, but I wasn't quick enough to get the camera out and take a picture before it vanished into the trees. Do bear go after cattle? Or just berries, grubs, fish, etc? There are supposed to be local wolves, wolverines and cougars too. I don't know what the ranchers do to protect the cattle. A steady food supply would probably increase the number of predators. |
