Many of the cushions fold up to give better access to the arm

The arm cushion does not fold up.
Here it is from the front.

There's also some scuffing of the arm cushion where my lap desk scrapes against it.
Not as important, but if it's easy to fix?
Or at least protect against further damage?
Any suggestions?

The left arm is similarly scuffed

Here's a totally unrelated problem that I'd also like to get fixed.
Broken spring in the lower back support.

See it bulging against the leather?

Not easy to get at the broken spring, without unstitching some seams

Here you can that the spring itself broke.
Its bracket didn't just pull loose from the wood frame.

Yeah, the spring itself broke

Can't really get to the back from here, but you can see how the springs that support the seat are hooked at one end
|

The other ends of those springs are screwed to the frame.
I've had to gradually replace all of these brackets over the years.
They're now MUCH stronger than they were.

Can we look up the back from the bottom?

No, not really.
Can only see the back edge of the bottom springs, not the back springs at all.
Will have to unstich some seams, I think.
