Palo Duro Canyon, in Amarillo Texas, is the 2nd largest canyon in North America.

At the Grand Canyon in Arizona, you can drive around the rim of the canyon, or hike down into the canyon, but you can't drive down into it.  So you can't see it from below without a long strenuous all-day hike.  And since reservations at the bottom must be made months in advance, you have to hike all the way back out the same day.  So as you hike down part way, you have to always plan to hike back up the same day.

However, at Palo Duro Canyon, you can drive your car down into it, and view the cliffs from below, going on short or long hikes up the cliffs at various points.  So, it's better for those who can't do such a long hike.
