            I am writing to you in search of a software development position
            at SMS.

            I have 9 years of professional experience in software development
            using C, Ada, Pascal, and X-Windows on Unix, VAX/VMS, and IBM PC 
            platforms.  I have a diverse background, having developed the 
            following types of software:
                 - Device independent 3D graphics package.
                 - Interactive graphical editor for a relational database
                   storing Object-Oriented Design (OOD) diagrams.
                 - Operating system emulator to support development of real-
                   time multi-tasking code on a development machine instead 
                   of the real target computer.
                 - Device drivers for assorted graphical I/O devices (raster 
                   and vector displays, mice, trackballs, touch panels, etc.).
                 - Language processing (parsing) tools to do static analysis
                   of Ada code.
                 - Real time double-buffering code to update the display list
                   of a graphical display while the list was being used to
                   refresh the display 30 times per second.
                 - Automatic heuristic layout of graph nodes and arcs.
            
            I intend to relocate to the Philadelphia area where most of my
            family resides, and will be in the area occasionally over the
